Bangladesh has made several bids for hosting future ICC tournaments, but there was not much success. Bangladesh and India have been announced as co-hosts of the 2031 World Cup after next 10 years. Besides, BCB did not get a chance to organize any tournament alone in the cycle from 2023 to 2031. They got this tournament but have to organize jointly. The host countries of the ICC World events in mens cricket were announced on Tuesday.

The 2024 T20 World Cup is the first World Cup of this new cycle of 8 years announced by the ICC. It will be jointly organized by the West Indies and the United States. Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy alone. This will be the first world tournament in the country since 1998. The 2026 T20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will be co-hosts of the 2026 ODI World Cup.

In 2026, the T20 World Cup will be held in Australia again. They also will host the World Cup next year 2022. However, New Zealand will be with them in 2026. India will be the sole host of the 2029 Champions Trophy. The 2030 World Cup will be held in England, Ireland and Scotland. it is to be noted that, the last hosted ICC event in Bangladesh was the 2014 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup was organized jointly.
